Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday extended free cancer treatment facility to all districts headquarters hospitals (DHHs). Such centres were earlier functional in 13 DHHs.
These centres will provide free chemotherapy treatment and consultation to the patients, a senior government official said.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik said, “Radiotherapy centres would be set up at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and DHHs in Jharsuguda, Angul and Nabarangpur in the next two years with an investment of Rs 40 to Rs 50 crore.”
