Paradip: The Marine Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a captain from the machine room of the Indian Coast Guard ship anchored at the Paradip Port.
The deceased identified as AK Goutam (23) of Kerala was the captain of the Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Razia Sultana’ for about a year.
The crew members found his body hanging inside the machine room in the early morning and informed their authority who immediately called the Marine Police.
A team of Marine Police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Police have informed the family members of Goutam’s death.
While the cause of death of the young captain was not immediately known, police have registered an unnatural death case and have begun an investigation.
