Bhubaneswar: A car went off an overbridge and crashed onto the road below after its driver lost control in Odisha’s capital early Saturday morning.
The incident took place on the Punama Gate railway overbridge at 4 am. There were two occupants in the car, including the driver, who were severely injured. Police rushed them to Capital Hospital here.
The severely damaged car came to rest on the lane below on its roof. The shop-lined lane where the car crashed after departing the overbridge is usually crowded during the day, but was empty at the time the accident happened. If the accident had taken place in daylight, there would have been more casualties, passersby said.
