Bhubaneswar: India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki posted 20.2 per cent growth in sales in December 2020 compared to same month last year. It sold around 1.6 lakh units compared to 1.33 lakh units sold in December 2019.
The Swift, Dzire, Baleno, WagonR and Ignis have driven the growth chart followed by Alto and S-Presso. Ciaz is the only model whose numbers have come down.
The UVs like Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6 have seen a growth of 8 per cent with 25,701 units sold.
Van sales have gone up by a sharp 46.9 per cent at 11,215 units.
In the passenger segment, the Super Carry LCV has seen an impressive 259.9 per cent jump at 5726 units compared to 1591 units sold a year ago.
Maruti has also sold 3808 units of the Baleno dubbed Glanza and Vitara Brezza dubbed Urban Cruiser to Toyota, a 180 per cent growth.
