Paradip: A car was swept away in the floodwaters of the Mahanadi, which had accumulated under Rahama-Khusalpur bridge near Haripur in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place when the car with two occupants was heading towards Haripur. One among them climbing onto the tree, where the vehicle got stuck after being swept away for around 100 metre in the floodwaters, while the other took shelter on its roof.
On being informed by locals, an ODRAF team and Fire Service personnel reached spot and launched a rescue operation, the sources added.
