Paradip: Carcass of long-snouted oceanic Stenella dolphin was spotted on the sea beach near Paradip Port gate number 5 on Wednesday.
According to o sources, some youth had buried the 4.5-ft-long male dolphin, weighing around 20-25 kg, on finding it dead on the beach.
On being informed, the Kujang forest officials recovered the body and sent it for the postmortem.
There were no injury marks on its body.
An official said that the postmortem report would shed light on the cause of the death of the dolphin.
Stenella dolphins are usually spotted in temperate and tropical oceans.
