Bhubaneswar: The Khandagiri Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly defrauding a Divyang of Rs 1.03 lakh, six months after he went absconding.
The accused has been identified as Pramod Kumar Nanda. He was working as a caretaker at the house of the complainant, Sandeep Acharya, at Baramuda Housing Board Colony.
Battling health issues, Acharya was admitted to a hospital last year in September, and therefore, he gave his ATM card to Nanda to meet his daily expenses.
In his complaint at Khandagiri police station on April 12, Acharya alleged that a total of Rs 1.03 lakh was withdrawn by Nanda and he found out the same after being discharged from the hospital in October.
Nanda, who went absconding after the fraud, was nabbed from Jaradapari village of Jagatsinghpur district.
The accused had earlier allegedly defrauded several people, said a police officer.
