Hyderabad: Telangana police have booked All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for threatened a police inspector from a public rally.
Asked to complete his election speech here on time, as per Model Code of Conduct, Akbaruddin dared the cop to leave the rally site.
Telangana will vote in a single phase for its 119-member Assembly on November 30.
A video tweeted by ANI shows Akbaruddin, brother of party chief Asaduddin Owaisi, pointing at his watch and ordering the inspector to move away. He even charges at the cop.
“Inspector saab, I have a watch. So go away, go away, go away,” Akbaruddin said as he rushed in front, gesturing with his hand at the police official.
As he returned to the podium, Akbaruddin continued in his aggressive style.
“Do you think I became weak hearing of knives and bullets? There is a lot of courage in me. No one can stop me from speaking for five minutes,” he said.

Akbaruddin is contesting from Chandrayangutta constituency, where he has been winning since 1999.
A case has been registered against Akbaruddin under sections 506 IPC, 153 IPC, 505(2) and 506 of IPC and Section 125 of Representation of the People Act, 1951.
Asaduddin urged Election Commission of India (ECI) to probe why his brother was asked to stop speaking at the rally.
“Permission was granted till 10 pm. But five minutes before the permitted time, you (police) climbed on the stage and asked to stop the meeting. We demand the EC should inquire into the incident as to why he (Akbaruddin Owaisi) was asked to stop his rally,” the AIMIM chief said.
Telangana BJP said there will be a “bulldozer reaction” against Akbaruddin if the saffron party was voted to power in the state.
“For decades, with the support of Congress and BRS, AIMIM has become a criminal enterprise which has kept the old city deprived and crime-ridden. It’s time to clean up this deliberately created mess. In the BJP govt, for this action of Akbaruddin, there will be a bulldozer reaction,” Telangana BJP wrote on X.
