New Delhi: Nikki Yadav, whose body was recovered from the refrigerator of a dhaba (eatery) in southwest Delhi, died of suffocation, according to the autopsy report.
There was no other injury mark on Nikki’s body apart from the one on the neck.
However, the autopsy couldn’t pinpoint the time of Nikki’s death as the body was kept in a freezer.
In a spine-chilling incident which reminded everyone of the Shraddha Walkar murder late last year, Nikki was strangled by live-in partner Sahil Gehlot with a mobile phone cable in a car. After killing Nikki, Sahil drove the car for around 40 km — making the body sit with the seatbelt on – and dumped the body inside the freezer of his dhaba which had not been operational for some time.
The same day, Sahil got married.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) sought a detailed report on the incident from Delhi police.
“Now, a girl named Nikki Yadav was killed by her boyfriend, (he) kept the dead body in a fridge and married someone else the next day. Terrifying, how long will girls continue to die like this,” DCW chief Swati Maliwal tweeted.
