Cash & Gold Looted From Cop’s House In Odisha’s Jajpur



Jajpur: Robbers broke into the residence of a police personnel in Odisha’s Jajpur district and stole valuables worth several lakhs.

The intruders decamped with valuables over Rs 1 lakh in cash, 20 tolas of gold and 200 grams of silver jewellery when nobody was at home of Havildar Bidyadhar Sethi who serves at Jajpur Road police station.

ident to media and said, “The burglary took place when me and my wife had left for our offices and the thieves managed to break into the house undetected. A gang of robbers have been tracking houses to carry out such crimes in the area.”

Sethi and his wife are working professionals staying at Jajpur road and their son stays at Bengaluru. Their CCTV had been malfunctioning for some time. The incident has raised serious concerns about security in the area, especially since the victim himself is a serving police officer.

Local police have launched an investigation and are scanning the neighbourhood for clues. Forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence, while officials are also examining possible involvement of organized gangs operating in the region.
