Cuttack: A woman was robbed of her gold chain by three unidentified miscreants, on the outskirts of Odisha’s Cuttack city, on Friday.
The entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera.
According to sources, Anju Behera of Balikuda’s Jagannath Colony under Sadar police limits was out on morning walk around 5.30 am when two miscreants walked towards her followed by another on a motorcycle. They then threatened her with sharp weapons and snatched away the gold chain which she was wearing. The trio then fled the spot on the bike.
Police have begun an investigation on basis of a complaint lodged by the victim.
Notably, there has been an increase in incidents of loot with both morning walkers and those on two-wheelers being targeted. Locals are demanding increased police patrolling in the area.
