Caught On Camera: Hotel Owner Attacked With Sharp Weapons In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A hotel owner sustained grievous injuries after allegedly being attack by miscreants with sticks and swords at Kalinga Vihar under Bharatpur police limits in Bhubaneswar during the immersion ceremony on Wednesday night.

The victim has been identified as Sajan Samal. The entire attack was captured in a CCTV camera.

According to Samal, he lodged a complaint with Mancheswar police after some miscreants, tried to sneak into his hotel on Dussehra. However, the cops allegedly took no action. They along with a few more miscreants returned to the hotel last night and launched a murderous attack on him. “Around 20-25 barged into the hotel around 12 am and attacked me with swords. They then pushed me from the 3-storey building,” he told reporters.

The injured hotelier identified five of his attackers as Anant Samantray, Tapan Badajena, Malinga, Rajkumar aka Pandu and Udit Pradhan. He claimed that Anant was behind the mastermind behind the attack.

While the hotel owner is undergoing treatment at a hospital, police have initiated an investigation into the incident, which is being attributed to past enmity.
