Kendrapara: Intensifying the process of investigation into the criminal antecedents of arrested gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali, a joint team Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch and police raided his residence at Dilawarpur village in Kendrapara district on Friday.
A total of five platoons of police force were deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident during the raid.
Apart from the criminal’s residence, raids were also conducted on his relatives’ houses at different places in the district.
The STF, on June 4, took Tito on a five-day remand.
The Crime Branch had appealed for 10-day remand of the gangster.

Nearly four hours after the incident, the Crime Branch had nabbed six of Tito’s associates following separate raids.
Tito is allegedly involved more than 50 cases pertaining to tender fixing.
Later, DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma had instructed all district SPs, Range IGs and DIGs to inform about the cases pending against Tito and his associates at different police stations coming under their respective jurisdictions.
