Mumbai: ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has been certified UA 13+ by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its theatrical release in India, with the film undergoing a few edits before receiving clearance.
The CBFC certificate, dated July 23, lists the film’s approved runtime at 144 minutes and 52 seconds (2 hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds).
The English-language 3D version with English subtitles was passed after certain modifications were made.
Among the changes, the CBFC directed the makers to insert a statutory anti-liquor disclaimer.
The board also ordered the muting and removal of objectionable words from the audio and subtitles at three instances.
Additionally, two kissing scenes at approximately the 44-minute and 57-minute marks were removed as part of the certification process.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ marks the 38th instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the fourth MCU Spider-Man film.
The movie stars Tom Holland in the lead alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and several others in key roles.
It is scheduled to hit Indian theatres on July 30, a day before its worldwide release.
