Rourkela: CBI officials from Ranchi raided the residence (C/81) of the deputy commissioner of Central Excise, Ashiq Jamal, in Rourkela on Saturday morning.
According to sources, Jamal was earlier arrested by CBI during his tenure in the Customs department in Mumbai in connection with a theft case. He was later placed under suspension.
He was transferred to Rourkela after his suspension was revoked.
