Bhubaneswar: The CBI on Wednesday raided Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, in connection with alleged fraud and financial irregularities.
The officials of the central investigating agency also carried out raids on the Surya Nagar residence of IMMT’s former director Barada Kanta Mishra and seized assets to the tune of Rs 1.14 crore.
“Besides cash, important documents were also recovered during the simultaneous raids on the institute’s office and the house of its former director,” an official said.
A disproportionate assets case has been registered against Mishra. He is currently the director of newly established IIT-Goa.
