Rourkela: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Friday raided the residence and office of Rourkela Steel Plant’s New Plate Mill’s Deputy General Manager (DGM) Rajiv Ranjan in connection with tender irregularities.
A special team of the CBI sleuths from Bhubaneswar conducted simultaneous raids at seven places including Rajiv’s house and office located at Rourkela after receiving an allegation pertaining to tender irregularities and corruption in purchasing some equipment for the Mill.
Several documents were reportedly seized by the CBI sleuths during the raid.
In January last year, the house of former executive director of RSP, BP Verma was raided by officials of the central investigating agency in the same tender irregularity case. Following which, he was arrested.
Later, he was released from the jail after being granted bail by a court.
