There is a possibility that the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as per usual schedule of February and March.
In an interview to a leading national media house, CBSE’s Controller of Examination Sanyam Bhardwaj was quoted saying that the Board had no plans to delay the Board Exams 2021. The CBSE is looking to employ ‘best suited strategy’ for conducting the exams during the pandemic.
He also clarified that CBSE had no intention of conducting the board examinations in online mode. Bhardwaj said the Board had successfully conducted the compartment examinations amid the pandemic. Based on the experience, they are confident that the 2021 board examination can be conducted offline.
He also expressed hope that the schools will reopen soon and students will get time to prepare for the exams.
About practicals, he said “Schools generally get around 1.5 months time. This year, they may get more than two months to conduct practical exams and complete all formalities while following Covid-19 guidelines and social distancing norms.”
In view of the pandemic there will be more gap days between exams so that students can sit for the exams without fear, he added.
The senior CBSE official made the statement few days after the CBSE announced that the 10th 12th Board Exam 2021 would be conducted offline.
