New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the compartment exams dates for classes 10 and 12. Students who could not appear for the exams the first time, or want to improve their score, can sit for the compartment exams, which begin on September 22.

Class 10 exams will be held on September 22, 23, 25, 26 and 28, while class 12 tests have been scheduled on September 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28 and 29.

The exams will be held from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Earlier, the CBSE requested the Supreme Court not to postpone the compartment exams.

Appearing for CBSE on Friday, Advocate Roopesh Kumar told the court that the Board will take all necessary precautions in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He further told the apex court that the Board plans to arrange 1,278 exam centres this year compared to 575 last year, and that 12 students will be seated in one classroom.

The three-member bench questioned the petitioner if the postponement of examinations will help students and has asked CBSE to file its response by September 7.

Around 1.5 lakh students of Class 10 and around 87,000 students of Class 12 are expected to appear in these exams.
