Bhubaneswar: Taking strong exception to the leakage of Mathematics and Economics question papers of the annual Class X and XII this year, the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), the student wing of the BJD on Thursday gheraoed the Bhubaneswar office of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Bhubaneswar zonal office here demanding resignation of Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Prakash Javadekar.
They also demanded that the CBSE should conduct re-examination of the two aforesaid papers only in New Delhi as the leak was confined to the national capital only.
Urging the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his urgent intervention in the matter since the future of lakhs of students is at stake, BCJD president, Rana Pratap Patra said the Prime Minister should take responsibility and initiate appropriate steps. He demanded resignation of the HRD minister for his sheer incompetency.
Patra further said the Centre must announce a high-level probe and take stern action against the culprits.
Besides, the guardians’ association condemned the decision of the CBSE to conduct re-examination of these two papers which were leaked.
Talking to the media, one of the guardians said the decision of the CBSE is an injustice to the students. When the question papers of the two subjects are leaked in Delhi, why should 30-40 lakh students across the country suffer, he asked.
