CBSE Practical Exams: Schools To Pay Hefty Fine For Non-Compliance Of COVID SOP

Bhubaneswar: Schools have partially reopened with COVID-19 norms in place and the Board examination schedule has been declared. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has now come up with a standard operating procedure (SOP) to be followed by schools during practical examination for Class X, XII students.

The CBSE has rescheduled practical examinations from March 1 to June 11, stated aa circular issued by the Board on Thursday. The Board has asked schools to follow the SOP and other guidelines related to COVID-19 strictly during the conduct of the examinations.

The schools have also been warned of a fine of Rs 50,000 for non-compliance of instructions.

Here’s what the CBSE SOP says:

  • A batch of 25 students could be divided into two sub-groups for the conduct of practical, if need be, looking into COVID. However, in such cases, marks will be uploaded of both the sub-groups on the link provided by the CBSE.
  • Hand sanitiser must in laboratory for sanitising hands.
  • Laboratory has to be sanitised with a solution of 1% hypochlorite after conduct of practical of each batch.
  • Dust bin should be covered and cleaned frequently.
  • Wearing of masks, washing hands, social distancing and other COVID-19 norms should be informed to students too.
  • Students allowed to bring small transparent bottle of sanitiser with them, besides face mask and gloves.
  • Entry and exit norms should be decided for students based on the location and infrastructure of laboratories
  • Doors of laboratories should be kept open during the conduct of the practical examinations.
