Jeypore: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday caught a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Snigdharani Mishra, for taking a bribe of Rs 1.75 lakh from a contractor in her office chamber in Nandapur block in Koraput district on Tuesday.
Vigilance sources said the CDPO had demanded the bribe from Snehalata Dalapati of Badsan Sahi village working as a member of Tini Bhairabi Self-Help Group (SHG) to draw of the bill of Rs 9,47,843 for the month of September and renew the agreement on the supply of THR (Take Home Ration) in respect of Tini Bhairabi SHG.
Following a complaint by the contractor, a trap was laid and the CDPO was caught while accepting the bribe.
