Bhawanipatna; Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Biswanathpur under Lanjigarh block of Kalahandi district while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a complainant.
As per reports, CDPO Meena Patra of Biswanathpur had demanded Rs 80, 000 from a complainant for clearing the bills of two SHGs to supply Chhatua under SNP programme.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Patra and seized, said the Vigilance officials. A case has been filed by Koraput Vigilance police (No 21/2021) under section 7 PC Amendment Act 2018.
Besides, simultaneous searches have been conducted on properties of Patra at three places in Kalahandi district. Further investigations are underway.
