Jagatsinghpur: The two-member Central team, which has come to Odisha to review the COVID-19 situation, on Tuesday expressed their satisfaction over the pandemic management in Jagatsinghpur district.
The team comprising Dr A Dan, Public Health Specialist at All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health (AIIH & PH) in Kolkata and Dr Shibani Dutta, Professor in the Department of Public Health Administration at AIIH & PH took stock of the situation at the district headquarters hospital here and met the officials to discuss various steps taken to combat the pandemic.
Later, the team members told the media persons that the situation was under control in the district. On the meeting with the officials, Dr Dutta said they felt the need for more doctors in the hospital. Jagatsinghpur CDMO Dr Bijaya Panda accompanied the team.
It may be noted that the Centre had recently announced that multi-disciplinary teams will be deputed to Odisha, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and Manipur in view of increased number of COVID cases being reported in these states.
