Bhubaneswar: A Central team will tour four coastal districts of Odisha to assess the damage due to Cyclone Yaas, official sources said on Sunday..
The seven-member team will be led by the Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry, Sunil Kumar Barnwal.
While two members will arrive in Bhubaneswar on Sunday afternoon, the other five will land on Monday, the sources said.
The team is scheduled to visit Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Mayurbhanj districts on Monday and Tuesday to assess the post-cyclone damage.
It will later meet the Chief Secretary and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).
In its report to the Centre, the Odisha government has pegged the post-cyclone damage at Rs 610 crore. Of this, Rs 520 crore is loss to government infrastructure and Rs 90 crore is damage to private properties.
The government also reported that Cyclone Yaas has severely affected 11,000 villages in the four coastal districts.
