New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Centre on Tuesday directed all states and UTs to keep a strict vigil on the COVID situation till July 31 and closely monitor case positivity, bed occupancy on regular basis.
In a letter to Chief Secretaries, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that the process of relaxing restrictions amid the declining cases should be carefully calibrated.
“On witnessing early signs of an increase in case positivity and higher bed occupancy, necessary action should be taken for containment and upgrading health infrastructure. For districts identified with high positivity and higher bed occupancy, States/UTs may consider imposing restrictions,” he said.
He further stressed the five-fold strategy for effective management of COVID-19 – Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination and adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour.
