Bhubaneswar: The Centre has approved construction of a high-level bridge across Hirakud Dam, informed Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday. A budget of Rs 274 crore has been allocated for the high-level bridge, stated the sanction order issued by the government.
The high-level bridge will connect Dangaghat under Bhikampalli area of Jharsuguda’s Lakhanpur block and Jarimuli ghat under Ambabhona in Bargarh district, he said.
Among other projects approved on the day include, ‘strengthening of Patnagarh-Padampur Road from 21/160 km to 38/625 km.
In a letter in response to request from Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Gadkari informed about the projects approved for Odisha which includes green signal to widening and strengthening of Bargarh–Bhatli–Ambabhona Road to 20/100 km.
An allocation of Rs 368.5 crore has been earmarked for the three projects which will be met from Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
