Bhubaneswar: The Central government has approved One District One Product (ODOP) for all the districts of Odisha.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries KM Shobha Karandlaje said his Ministry has approved ODOP for 713 districts in 35 States and Union Territories under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
The districts have been included in ODOP on recommendations from respective state in consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
In Odisha, the local products of all the districts have been brought under the scheme to ensure benefits to the farmers in terms of procurement of inputs, availing common services and marketing of products. ODOP provides the framework for value chain development and alignment of support infrastructure.
Under ODOP, credit linked subsidy has been sanctioned for 12,024 micro food processing enterprises, 76 Incubation Centres have been approved and 14 brands launched for marketing and branding support to micro food processing units in the country.
