Bhubaneswar: The Central government has approved more than Rs 121 crore for construction of a bypass in Rairangpur town of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
In a tweet on Saturday, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said his ministry has approved Rs 121.27 crore for construction of a 2-lane with paved shoulders bypass on Ranchi-Vijaywada National Highway 220 in Rairangpur.
The length of the road will be 8.47 km and it will be built on EPC mode under Annual Plan 2022-23.
It may be noted that Rairangpur serves as a vantage business point between Jharkhand and West Bengal. The sub-divisional headquarters of Bamanghati, the town has been facing road communication problem since long. Since the NH 220 serves as main road running through Rairangpur, it has been posing communication problems for the local commuters.
