New Delhi: The Central Government on Thursday further eased the restrictions in the new guidelines issued for those flying to India from abroad.
According to the fresh standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the Union Health Ministry, the travellers seeking exemption from institutional quarantine will have to submit a negative RT-PCR report conducted in 72 hours before starting the journey.
Those arriving without the certificate and wishing to seek exemption from institutional quarantine can avail the facility at the airports while the fliers not opting for facility will have to undergo mandatory 7 days’ institutional quarantine and 7 days’ home quarantine.
The SOP further stated that home quarantine for 14 days may be permitted only for compelling reasons or cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parent with children of the age of 10 years or below.
The remaining passengers will be admitted in institutional quarantine facilities to be arranged by the respective state governments to undergo mandatory seven days institutional quarantine and seven days home quarantine, the ministry stated.
