Bhubaneswar: The Union Ministry of Education has sanctioned an amount of Rs 86.91 crore for the development of Ravenshaw Government Girls’ School in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
Sources said the fund has been approved for the year 2024-25 under the Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) Project under the supervision of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
It may be noted that the Union Minister, during his visit to the school on December 16, 2023 on the occasion of 150th year celebration of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, assured the authorities of financial assistance for the development of the premier institute.
Later on August 31, 2024, he directed the Cuttack district administration to prepare a masterplan for the infrastructure development.
The total budget of Rs 86.91 crore, approved by the Education Ministry under the STARS Project, will be used for six development works.
Rs 14 crore for New School Building
Rs 10 crore for Indoor Stadium/Assembly Hall
Rs 20.7 crore for New Hostel
Rs 5.12 crore for School Building (Primary)
Rs 3.32 crore for School Building’s Renovation
Rs 6.93 crore for development of School Surroundings
Rs 26.84 crore for Staff Quarters, Cycle Stand & Overall Development
