New Delhi: The Central government will launch an app for the people to avail vaccine against COVID-19.
Health secretary of the Union government Rajesh Bhusan on Tuesday said one can register his name for the vaccine on the app “Co WIN”. Every citizen of India can download the app for free, he added.
Stating that “Co WIN” is a developed version of Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN), Bhusan said it will monitor the condition of the person from the beginning to the end. Any organisation or community can also use the app for vaccination.
Besides giving the details of the vaccination one wants to avail, the app will have information regarding his nearest vaccination centre.
The app will operate on real time basis and have updated information about the number of vaccine vials available in the country and future production. After a person takes the COVID-19 vaccine, his record will be stored in the app, Bhusan said.
