Centre To Provide Ex-Gratia To Families Of Kendrapara Boat Mishap Victims

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the death of 10 people of Hasina village in Jagatsinghpur district in a boat mishap in Mahanadi confluence at Balighat near Nepania in Kendrapara district on January 2, the Centre has decided to provide ex-gratia to the families of the deceased from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF).

As decided, Rs 2 lakh would be provided to each family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the family whose kin was seriously injured in the mishap.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in a letter, has asked the Kendrapara collector to provide details of the families of the deceased and their bank accounts.

The PMO has also informed the same to the Jagatsinghpur collector as all the deceased belong to the district.
