Bhubaneswar: The Bolagarh Road railway station in Odisha’s Khurda district will be renamed Manikagoda station, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi tweeted on Thursday.
In a letter to the MP, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that a no-objection certificate (NOC) in this regard has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Aparajita had earlier written to the Railway Minister urging him to rename Bolagarh Road station as Manikagoda station to honour the long-standing demand of the locals. “On the request of the villagers of Bolgarh area in my Bhubaneswar Constituency, I had requested Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for allowing the change of name of Bolgarh Station to Manikagouda Station. Railway Ministry has given its NOC. Glad that this would make residents happy,” she wrote.
