CESU Worker Held For ‘Ditching’ Live-In Partner

Cuttack: Acting on an order of Bhubaneswar SDJM court, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday arrested a youth working at CESU in Cuttack for allegedly ditching his live-in partner.

The accused has been identified as Debasish Swain (30), a resident of Chhatia in Cuttack district.

According to reports, the couple was in a relationship for past one year and was to tie the knot on March 9. The accused, however, started avoiding the woman when her family refused to give dowry as demanded by his uncle.

The woman then moved the court after police allegedly refused to lodge a complaint.

A case has also been filed against the youth’s uncle, who is absconding.
