Bhubaneswar: Students of College of Engineering and Technology (CET) staged a mass demonstration in front of the main gate of the campus, demanding university status to the engineering institution.
Some agitating students also burnt tyres near the campus alleging that the state government had proposed to accord university status to the college in 2014, but nothing has been done so far for approval.
“Concrete steps must be taken to accord university status to the college for sorting out financial issues faced by the college authorities and carrying out different infrastructure developmental activities on the campus”, an agitating student said.
