Chain Snatchers, Who Targeted Woman Cop, Arrested In Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Police have nabbed two persons, who allegedly snatched a gold chain of former IIC of Nayagarh Sadar police station Manorma Mallick after deliberately hitting her two-wheeler while she was returning home on Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Sampad Das and Kalia Raul, both residents of Khurda. Four gold chains and a two-wheeler, which was used in the snatching incident, have been seized from them.

A case was registered and the accused were identified on the basis of CCTV footage, following which, a team led by IIC Nayagarh conducted raids and apprehended the duo. “More than 20 criminal cases registered against the accused persons in various police stations in Khurda and under Commissionerate Police,” said Nayagarh SDPO Snehasish Sahu.
