Bhubaneswar: As excitement soared among people across Odisha ahead of the moon landing process of Chandrayaan 3 on Wednesday evening, prayers and special pujas were organised in many parts of the state for the success of the mission.

Reports received from different parts of the sate said that havans, pujas and prayers were organised by different organisations, students and individuals to pray for the safe landing of the lander module, Vikram, on the south pole of the lunar surface.

In state capital Bhubaneswar, a cultural organisation organised a special yajna in Jaydev Vihar area for the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission. Members of another organisation worshiped Lord Biswakarma, known as the God of architecture.

Stating that the success of the mission will script a new chapter in India’s space history, a member of the organisation said that people are excited about the success of the mission.

Excitement also reached its peak among students of different schools in Cuttack, Baripada, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur and other parts of the state.

They brought different scientific projects to their schools and displayed placards and banners wishing grand success for the mission. While many city schools put up big screens to telecast the event live, students and teachers in some schools held pujas for the success of the mission.

The success of Chandrayaan 3 will not only make all Indians proud, but will also inspire many scientists and students to delve deep into the field of research, said a student.
