Bhubaneswar: The 8th edition of Charitable Corporate Cricket League, billed as
the biggest corporate cricket tournament in eastern India, will be
held at Kishore Club Ground, Unit 1, here from December 14 to 17.
“This year, cricket lovers will witness an exciting Corporate
Cricket League (CCL) in a much bigger and better format. WE4YOU has
been organising this corporate event every year to raise funds for
conducting various social activities. The funds will be
utilized to prepare audio books for visually-challenged people of
the state. Thousands of visually-challenged persons benefit from this project every year,” WE4YOU manager Krushna Tripathy told a press conference here on Tuesday.
Sharing the tournament details, member of WE4YOU Chandra
Mohan Baral said, “Thirty-two teams, including representatives from
big companies, will take part in the tennis ball cricket tournament. Matches will be 12-over affairs and held in day-and-night format. There will be 8 groups; 4 teams in each group. Each team will play a minimum of 3 matches. Two teams from each group will qualify to
next level.”
A bat with signatures of all the captains will be auctioned at the end
of the league. The proceeds from the auction will be utilized for
benefit of the blind people, he added.
