Sundargarh: The charred body of a young man was found from the ashes of a burnt haystack in a village of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Friday.
According to sources, a villager of Sargipali under Lephripada police station in the district noticed the haystack burning behind the Navoday Vidyalay on Thursday night. But he did not take a serious note of it as burning hasytack at night during winter is a normal affair in the area.
On Friday morning, some villagers found the charred body of a youth in the ashes of the burnt haystack while they were going to the farm field. They also found a two-wheeler burnt near the body and informed the police.
A team from Lephripada police station went to the village and set the body for post-mortem. The identity of the deceased has not been known as the villagers said the person did not belong to the area. Further investigation is on.
