Check 12 New Micro-Containment Zones In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: With active cases surging closer to 3000, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday declared eight more mirco-containment zones to check the spread of the virus.

Micro-Containment Zones:

  1. – Plot No-HIG-4, Kalinga Vihar, Patrapada
  2. -Plot No 63, Gandamunda, GaneshNagar
  3. – Plot No 166, Mahatab Road, Old Town
  4. – Khusi Classic Apartment, Jharapada, Flat no 2, D
  5. – Bhimatangi HB Colony, Plot no 107, Phase 21
  6. – IVA- 21/1, Road no-15, Ashoknagar, Unit- 2, near Congress Bhawan
  7. – Sundarpada Azad Nagar- Plot No 2537/2588
  8. – Plot No-531, Saheed Nagar
  9. Flat No-A1-304, Bright Residency, Rasulgarh
  10. Sabar Sahi, GGP Colony, Rasulgarh
  11. Plot No-657/109, Near Trinath Temple, Canal Road, Naharkanta
  12. GN-GRNC, Mani Tribhun Apartment, Raghunathpur

The city saw a surge in COVID cases on January 4 with 142 people testing positive for the virus. Since then there has been a consistent rise in daily infection with 341 cases on January 5, 400 on January 6, 638 on January 7 and 581 on January 8. The city saw a marginal fall in cases on January 9 with 574 cases.

To ensure strict implementation of COVID guidelines, the BMC has also decided to impose Rs 500 fine on the violators.
