Bhubaneswar: With active cases surging closer to 3000, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday declared eight more mirco-containment zones to check the spread of the virus.
Micro-Containment Zones:
The city saw a surge in COVID cases on January 4 with 142 people testing positive for the virus. Since then there has been a consistent rise in daily infection with 341 cases on January 5, 400 on January 6, 638 on January 7 and 581 on January 8. The city saw a marginal fall in cases on January 9 with 574 cases.

To ensure strict implementation of COVID guidelines, the BMC has also decided to impose Rs 500 fine on the violators.
