Bhubaneswar: Don’t drink and drive because if ‘You Booze, You Lose’. That’s the State Transport Authority (STA)’s latest campaign against drink-driving, one of the major reasons for road fatalities every year.
Drink-driving caused 648 road accidents in Odisha in 2020, in which 298 people lost their lives.
The campaign ‘You Booze, You Lose’, which the STA tweeted, has the image of a car and a bottle of liquor. In a mirror image, which shows the fatal consequences of drinking and driving, the car is crushed and a bottle used for blood transfusion mirrors the alcohol bottle, hanging upside down.
Known for its road safety campaigns with catchy slogans, the STA earlier launched a road safety campaign against helmet-less riders with a meme of the blockbuster movie Pushpa.
