Jaleswar: Panic gripped locals, on the outskirts of Jaleswar town in Odisha’s Balasore district, after a tanker truck carrying chemicals overturned and caught fire on NH-60 near Ekatali Chhak in the early hours of Wednesday.
Soon after the mishap, the driver fled.
On being informed, the local police and a Fire brigade rushed to the spot. The Fire services personnel managed to douse the flames after an hour.
Efforts are on to stop the emission of gas from the tanker, police said.
