Mumbai: Director Rohit Shetty, the king of action films, is set to make his digital debut with a web series.
Known for films like Chennai Express, Singham series and Simmba, the 47-year-old Rohit make his maiden foray in the OTT space with a police action thriller series.
“Rohit will be the creator and showrunner of a cop action-thriller series consisting of about eight episodes. It is inspired by true events,” PTI quoted a source close to Rohit as saying.
Rohit, son of legendary stuntman-actor MB Shetty, will start work on the yet-to-be-titled web series later this year after finishing Cirkus, which features Ranveer Singh.
Cirkus, based on Shakespeare’s classic play The Comedy of Errors, revolves around two sets of identical twins who were separated at birth and is expected to be released next winter.
