Chetan Sharma Resigns As India’s Chief Selector Amid Controversy

New Delhi: BCCI’s chief selector Chetan Sharma resigned from the post amid controversy following a sting operation by a media outlet.

Sharma sent his resignation to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah who accepted it, news agency ANI reported.

Chetan Sharma’s position as chairman of national selection committee became untenable after his alleged ‘loose talk’ during a sting operation.

It is understood that Chetan being caught in a sting operation hasn’t gone down too well with the top brass of the BCCI but the incident might have a far reaching impact on the relat ..

In the video, Chetan Sharma was heard talking about several issues and even talked about the relationship between former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and former captain Virat Kohli.

Chetan Sharma was re-appointed as a chief selector last month but the controversial sting operation landed him in a difficult situation.

In the sting, Chetan was caught saying how he spent 30 minutes talking to India captain Rohit Sharma and revealed Hardik Pandya would come to his place late in the night to discuss his future.
