Mumbai: Actor Vicky Kaushal has excelled playing different characters in films — from that of a boy next door to a soldier — with ease and perfection.
The actor, who will next be seen playing Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in film ‘Chhaava’, has left the audience mesmerised with his acting skills in the trailer.
In the three-minute-long trailer, released on YouTube on Wednesday, Vicky looks unrecognisable in his new avatar of a Maratha king. He delivers his dialogues like a true Maratha warrior and is also seen confronting a lion in the trailer.
Akshaye Khanna, who plays the negative role of Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb, has also proven his versatility.
As soon as the trailer was released, fans took to the comment section to shower praises on Vicky and the film.
“Not a single scene, but the whole trailer is giving me countless goosebumps. What an impactful movie trailer this is! Blockbuster is written all over it,” wrote a fan.
Another fan stated, “Akshay khanna and Vicky kaushal nailed it man. Pure goosebumps 🎉Bollywood’s back ❤.”
However, actress Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the role of Vicky’s wife in the film, failed to impress the audience.
Netizens opined that Rashmika was just a different version of Srivalli from ‘Pushpa 2’, adorned with a lot of jewellery in the period drama.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is set to hit theatres on February 14.
