Bhubaneswar: Chhatrapur police have summoned BJP spokesperson and party in-charge of Ganjam district Golak Mohapatra to depose by noon on Wednesday in connection with his alleged links with Krushna Chandra Nayak, a key conspirator in the sensational murder of Chhatrapur councillor Laxmidutta Pradhan.
The move came a day after BJD submitted a memorandum to Southern Range IG demanding arrest of the BJP leader.
Meanwhile, police on Tuesday took Nayak and another key conspirator Duryodhan Reddy on a seven-day remand for further interrogation.
Nayak had earlier claimed that Golakh had helped them escape after the murder. According to his Call Detail Record, he was in constant touch with the BJP leader both before and after the murder. Nayak and Reddy were recently nabbed from a guest house at Dehradun in Uttarakhand.
