Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a youth reportedly died on while playing a Kabaddi match at a village in Komna area of Odisha’s Nuapada district on Monday.
As per sources, the incident took place at Tarabod village under Komna Block of the district.
The deceased Kabadi player has been identified as Khageshwar Rathia of Dudumchua village in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh.
Locals said Tarabod Durga Puja Committee had organised a Kabaddi tournament and Khageshwar was playing a match against Hatisara team of Nuapada district on behalf of Sonista Potapara team of Mahasamund.
While the match was underway, he suddenly fell ill. The organisers and other players rushed him to a nearby for treatment. He was later shifted to Nuapada District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), where doctors declared him dead.
