Child Labourer Rescued From Government Official’s Residence In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A child labourer was rescued from the residence of National Informatics Centre (NIC) district information officer Ajay Mohapatra’s residence in Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
Acting on a specific tip-off, a joint raid was carried out by the officials of Labour Department, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Childline and police at Mohapatra’s residence from where a minor girl was rescued.
Similarly, another child was also rescued by the officials from a businessman’s house.
Three more children were also rescued from many other places including houses and business establishments following simultaneous raids.
“We are trying to establish contact with the parents and family members of the rescued children. Further investigation into the matter is on” a police officer informed.
