Bhubaneswar: A chimpanzee named Purnima gave birth to an infant at Nandankanan zoo in the city on Monday.
Zoo authorities said Purnima delivered a cute and healthy infant in enclosure number 60 (B) in the morning.
With the infant’s birth, the number of chimpanzees at Nandankanan zoo has gone up to seven. Besides Purnima, the other chimpanzees at the zoo are named Julu, Laxmi, Durga, Rakhi and Pampeta.
